On the way to Parma, just as we crossed into Ohio, I saw a bunch of dust flying from the opposite traffic, then a piece of tire. From the dust came an SUV that was rolling over the grassy median towards our car! I swerved over and pulled the car to a stop on the shoulder. I yelled "phone, phone, phone!" to Joel to hand me a phone. He was working on it when I remembered that he's a doctor and I said, "you have to go help them!" He got out of the car and ran, holding his shorts up, to be the first on the scene. He directed a bunch of people who had stopped to help and ended up, with an off duty EMT, a medical student, and a brave trucker, helping three people who will hopefully be just fine. What a scary experience, but one that has made us rethink how we travel in the car. We are so inspired by the many people who stopped to help these poor people who were apparently heading to Cracker Barrel. Thank you to Margaret nd Tim who hosted us that night, and Amy and Katy with whom it was so much fun to visit! Sorry your entry got overshadowed by the events on the road!
