GREAT truck stop with pie for breakfast, yum. I camped in their parking lot overnight. The trucker showers here at Frontier Pies beat all. And those peaches never saw the inside of a can, even if the crust is based on Crisco. Got a piece of "scramble berry" for lunch. Us truckers need nutrients, yah. This place is full of old guys dressed unselfconsciously like the Marlborough man, burly truckers with big tattoos and even bigger beer bellies, buff truckers who must be lifting weights back in the showers or something, and me. The waitresses eye me suspiciously as if wondering whether I'm a lady of the road. Yep, I am, though not one to lend aid and comfort to truckers. I leave a tip with a "thank you" in the shower so they will be more smiley to the next backpack-toting middle-aged overeducated crazy woman.
