The towns out in the area are very quaint and the people out here are just as down-to-earth. We ate dinner at a quiet little diner near the truck stop where we shut down.
Interesting sights:
- Driving up into the clouds.
- Quite a few windmills up here (but not as many as in SoCal).
- Circle crops! Very cool.
- Drove through Spokane, WA which looked a lot like Portland, OR for some reason.
- More deer sightings and a porcupine sighting (I'll leave out if they were dead or alive).
- Hippie sightings galore.
- An incredible amount of road and bridge construction.
Trucking lesson of the day: Highway police are referred to as "Smokies" in trucker lingo and are frequently announced via CB radio.
