The morning before my departure I was still running around to finalise planned activities for the time I would be in Saudi… distinguishing a few smoke signals before they became field fires. Riana picked me and the equipment up at around 13:00. Daniel was a bit late, since they were forced to take a detour due to a fire next to the N2. Check-in went smooth and after cappuccino’s we were on our way. We got Exit seats for the flight so I was fairly comfortable (well as comfortable a 1.93m guy can get with 500mm of leg space). During the night a couple from the front exit seats with twin babies wanted to change seats with us. We were fine with the move, but the Italian guy next to us was not so happy at first. However, 3 minutes later, he was all of a sudden very happy since he saw that he would be sitting next to a pretty girl (the fear in her eyes told me she did not share his excitement). Since we moved to right behind business class my left foot flew in style for the reminder of the trip. All in all the people on the flight were very restless and we did not get a lot of sleep. I watched two movies: the Tourist (Angelina Jolie & Johnny Depp) and Red (Bruce Willis). I was forced to put my TV away 13 minutes before the end of Red though.
