Journal

Location

Port Augusta West, Australia

 Just cause it’s Australia, doesn’t mean it’s hot…
 Sam much prefers reading maps than driving on the left side of the road in a bass ackwards vehicle!
 Marc-André, by process of elimination, is forced to drive on the left side of the road… sorry Chéri, the tribe has spoken.
 Macadamia nuts are cheaper than most other nuts and surprisingly fattening
 You have taste buds in your nose
 It’s important to watch the engine temperature! You know that random gauge on your dash with a funny looking sail boat… Yeah, the one that tells you when it’s safe to turn your heater on in the winter! We learnt that while I was driving up one of those beautiful rolling mountains trying to convince Marc-André that the van was making a funny sound when smoke started billowing from the hood. Conveniently this happened next to a National Park with a walking path through the subtropical rainforest. BONUS! We walk while the van cooled.
 Marc-André is fascinated by all the different species of birds, one kin din particular sounds like C3PO, or is it R2D2, which one makes the beeping sounds
 One bird in particular sounds like a hundred Tom Cats in heat.
 Contrary to our confidence in the grocery store, we show no self control when faced with honey roasted cashews.
 Guandong is a type of peachy fruit… Which while delicious costs 100$/kg YIKES!
 Not all water is created equal. I am anxious to chug a tall glass off cool, delicious, thirst quenching Kap water. Props to our water treatment station.
 Test work has proved to be inconclusive in confirming or disproving the counter clockwise drainage of things. Marc-André claims it is true, but I remain unconvinced.
