Today I took the Tranz Alpine train from Greymouth to Christchurch which was really good. A very relaxed and 'grown up' 4 hour journey through Arthurs Pass and across Viaducts down to the Canterbury planes. I'd didn't spend too long on the viewing platforms as it was pretty chilly but the scenery was lovey and I had a very funny and entertaining Kiwi chap sat across from me.
I only have one night in Christchurch but it seems tomorrow is their annual large County Show so as my bus isn't until 4pm I'm going to go and watch sheep sheering, sheep dogs and eat lots of ice cream!
