To reach our cruise ship a bus picked us up from Te Anau and drove us to Lake Manapouri where we took a little boat for 40mins across to the other side. From here another bus took us winding through the rugged mountains, past waterfalls and finally to the edge of Doubtful Sound. We spent 24 hours on board our cruise ship 'Fiordland Navigator' and saw seals and Penguins plus amazingly untouched mountains and forests. I met a lovely English girl, Siobhan, and she and I spent most of our time braving the winds on the top deck with a glass of wine! The food was amazing, I've not eaten so well in 8 months, and the whole experience was really enjoyable. I'm glad I chose to take a cruise on Doubtful Sound which is the more remote, larger and untouched Sound compared to Milford.
