We've signed up on a 2 day 2 night sailing trip around the Whitsunday Islands and leave today in a couple of hours! I'm very excited....
The past 3 days have been incredible! We spent day one sailing on S.V Whitehaven which was an amazing tall ship. We stopped at Blue Pearl Bay and spent the afternoon snorkeling with such gorgeous fish and coral. Dinner was sweet and sour chicken which was delicious and we enjoyed a few drinks on deck with a great group of 25 people. We woke at 6am on day 2 and after breakfast sailed round to Tongue Bay where we did a bit of trekking across to see the beautiful Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island... It was amazing, the silica sand was so soft and white! In the afternoon we sailed to the north of Hook Island and spent hours snorkeling with turtles and sunbathing on deck. We had some incredible sunsets and enjoyed star gazing on the evening of day 2 over a few chilled beers and spaghetti bolognaise. I slept really well in our cute little cabins and really enjoyed the sailing, our crew were great fun and it was a fantastic experience.
Relaxing back at Airlie beach for the rest of today before catching a bus on to Agnes Water tomorrow. Oh and I need to buy yet another pair of sunnies as I somehow managed to break pair number 6, I don't think I know my own strength!
