After the 5 hour train journey to Agmer and a very cramped car ride (I thought they were going to put me on the roof with the bags!) we arrived at Hotel Kishian Palace in Pushkar. Home to the only Brahma temple it is one of the holiest towns in Hinduism and is an essential pilgrimage destination. It's a small town and after our orientation tour we recieve the 'Pushkar Passport', a blessing from a Brahman Priest allowing us access to the temples hassel free. We pray for our families and scatter petals and spices into lake Tirtharay, then sit and watch the people bath.
Puskar is alcohol free so in order to celebrate Jacks special day we take a bus 5km to a local house, where we are fed, entertained and dance until the early hours under the full moon.
Great for shopping - I've made a few small purchases that are so beautiful yet so cheap! ;-)
