Florence is one of those cities that seeps history with every turn of the eye. However, the history in Florence goes beyond typical history. Here it is art history, which we all know is much more complex.

After coming to Florence it became apparent how the humanist ideology of the Renaissance affected this city. Rome was a city built for an eternal empire, for grandeur, and for splendor. Florence, on the other hand, was a city for the individual, for human progress, and for beauty.
