Location

Civitavecchia, Italy

What better way to get to Italy (last minute decision, sorta) then to take a cruise ship across the Mediterranean. It was an overnight cruise, which afforded a beautiful sunset, a more spectacular sunrise, and a clear demarcation of the third leg of this trip..

I arrived in the modern port city of Civitavecchia along with the group of backpackers I met on board. We hurried through the small town to catch our train to Rome. FYI, if you want the biggest watermelons go to this city, they're the size of a fat toddler.
