Čez dan sta se menjala dež in sonce. Jure se je veliko preoblačil, avtodom pa smo spremenili v sušilnico čevljev in obleke.
Na klancih smo tekli z Juretom in mu s tem pomagali premagati še zadnje strmine. Trenutno spi še zadnjič na dirki.
Na nepričakovanih zadnjih obvozih smo zaradi pomanjkljivih navodil organizatorja (prejeli smo jih komaj nekaj ur pred dejanskimi obvozi) lahko zaupali samo zanesljivim napravam Garmin. Prav na zadnjem obvozu se je izkazalo, da je potrebno upoštevati izkušnje skupaj s tehniko. Medtem, ko sta pacecar in spycar zaradi dvomljivih pismenih navodil zapeljala na napačno stran hitre ceste smo v avtodomu skupaj z vodjo ekipe, trenerjem biatlonske reprezentance Slovenije, s prave strani samo nemočno opazovali težave obeh vozil.
Jureta čaka še 180 milj. Na prejšnjih RAAM-ih smo od zadnjih klancev potrebovali veliko več milj do cilja, predvsem dolgočasnih in nevarnih ravnin. Tokrat se cilj zdi bližje.
Prihod v cilj je načrtovan za 12.00 po EDT. Na cilju bo Jureta pričakal tudi veleposlanik Republike Slovenije v Združenih državah Amerike, g. Samuel Žbogar, ki bo pripravil sprejem za celotno ekipo.
Čez nekaj minut pričakujem še zadnje zdravstveno poročilo, ki ga v drugem avtu tipka naš doktor. Objavil ga bom takoj ko ga dobim.

The rain and the sun both made appearances throughout the day. Jure changed clothes many times, while we converted the RV into a drying room for shoes & clothes.
We ran with Jure on the ascents and with this we helped him conquer the last of the hills. At the moment he's taking his final nap of the race.
At the unexpected last detours, because of the inadequate instructions from the organizer (we received them just a few hours prior to arriving at the actual detour), we could only trust our dependable Garmin device. Exactly at the last detour we discovered that it's beneficial to combine experience with technology. Meanwhile, when the pacecar and spycar drove into opposing traffic on the expressway because of questionable written instructions, the team leader and ourselves could only helplessly observe, from the correct side of the road, the difficulties both vehicles were having.
Jure still has 180 miles to go. In previous RAAMs it seemed like we had many more miles to go between the last of the hills and the finish line, mostly becasue of the monotonous and dangerous straight roads. This time the finish line seems much nearer.
The arrival at the finish line is planned for 12.00 EDT. There, the ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr. Samuel Žbogar, will have prepared a reception for the entire team.
In a few minutes I should be receiving the final medical report, which is being typed out at the moment by our doctor. I'll post it as soon as I receive it.
