Medtem smo že zapustili Kansas in smo v Misouriju, v državi kjer Jure ponavadi zada odloćilne udarce svojim konkurentom. Preostali letošnji konkurenti pa so že tako daleč, da udarec ne bo niti potreben.
Zaradi zaspanosti in monotonije na dirki težko najdem kaj o čemer bi pisal in da bi vas to vsaj malce zanimalo.
Lahko bi pisal, da so v ZDA vse stvari večje, razen "vazelina" za ustnice. Zakaj je tako, drugič. Lahko bi vam opisoval kdo je "zabasal" največ WC-jev v štirih dnevih dirke in da je sreča v tem, da se nam ni treba vračati na ene in iste bencinske črpalke. :)
Večkrat sem že pisal o našem "gazvodi", ki mi je velikokrat navdih za kakšen zapis, ko ga gledam iz sovozniškega sedeža. Mogoče sem mu naredil krivico, ko opisujem samo smešne nezgode, ne pa vestne in dosledne skrbi za zaloge bencina in vode v avtodomu. Ali mogoče njegove hitre reakcije pri reševanju težav s hladilnikom, ki je rešila zamrznjene zrezke..
V tem času Jure napreduje miljo za miljo. Z njim sem na RAAM-u že petič in ne morete si predstavljati razlike v njegovih reakcijah danes ali na prvem RAAM-u. Sploh mu ni problem ustaviti za pet minut in pokramljati z domačini na TS, se fotografirati ali celo dati intervju za lokalni časopis.
S komerkoli je v kontaktu ga začara s svojo skromnostjo. Še posebej ker večina njih ve kakšen je v boju s konkurenco, kot buldožer. Amerika ga ljubi, vsakodnevno se najde kdo, ki si želi njegov podpis ali fotografiranje z njim.
Vsem, ki spremljajo RAAM je jasno, da lahko zmaguje RAAM dokler bo hotel. Sodnika, ki nas spremljata sta priznala, da sta skoraj na dopustu, saj poznamo vsa pravila in se jih striktno držimo zaradi slabih izkušenj iz preteklosti.
Drugače pa je danes očitno dan gumi defektov. V prvih 4 dnevih niti enega, danes pa že 5. Jošt si bo danes zaslužil vsaj repete na špagetih, če ne kakšnega dodatnega napitka, ki da krila.
Za popestritev vam prilagam še dva dni star filmček, ki lepo prikazuje Juretovo moč na vzponu in tudi postopek dodajanja hrane iz avta.

We left Kansas and then reached Missouri, the state in which Jure usually started winning the race. This year's competitors are so far behind that no action will make a significant difference.
Due to insomnia and monotony during the race, it's hard for me to find an interesting topic to write for your reading enjoyment.
I could've written about how bigger everything is in the USA, except for lip balm. Why this is so, is a story for another time. Or maybe who pooped the most in these four days, and most of all, how fortunate we are that we never had to return to the same gas station :)
I mentioned our driver, Gazvoda, a couple of times, who is inspiring me. I wrote only humorous stories concerning him, but not how carefully and cautiously he is planning for the gas and water supply in our RV. Or maybe his quick reaction in resolving a refrigerator problem to save our frozen steaks...
At the moment Jure is advancing mile by a mile. It is our 5th RAAM together, and you cannot imagine the difference in his reactions today compared to those on his first RAAM. It is no problem for him to make a five minute stop and have a chat with the locals, pose for photos, or even answer some questions for local newspapers. He charms everybody with his modesty, especially since most of the people know how ruthless he is in the competition, like a bulldozer. America loves him, people come daily for his autograph and to take photos with him.
It is apparent to all who are following RAAM that he can keep winning this event as long as he wants to. The judges observing us admitted that they feel like they're on vacation because we know all the rules and strictly abide by them - there had been too many bad experiences in the past.
Besides that, today seems to be a flat tire day. Not a single flat one in the first four days, and we are at number 5 already today. Our repair master Jošt will earn an extra meal, and maybe also a beverage which gives him wings.
