It’s a great train ride, we are in “Red Leaf” section of the train, economy class, but the seats are big and comfy and the food is generous. It’s a long and scenic day and we snap around 400 shots along the way, we arrive in Kamloops a little later than schedule at around 7pm. A bus takes us to our modest accommodation for the night, “The Executive Inn”. We are befriended by a couple from our Carriage Sharron and Shane from Melbourne and we all head over to the “Fog and Suds” across the road for dinner. We all order some food and a local honey larger. To everyone’s amusement and to Sharron’s surprise her dish is half a lamb and a mountain of salad.
After eating, drinking and a whole lot of talking we head back for bed around 10. Quick check of email on yet more free wireless internet, makes you realise how far behind Australia is when you can get free broadband in the most basic of hotels and in small country towns, then it’s finally time to get into bed after a very long day at around 10:30.
