Preparation @ Steinbach, Canada

Well, we're in the middle of preparing for one of the longest road trips any of us have ever been apart of. We don't know what this will hold but we are very excited to see what God is going to do through us and in us. Our vision is to love and encourage everyone that we come in contact with. We are a bunch of friends from Steinbach Bible College (www.sbcollege.ca) looking to see what faith looks like in real life. The plan is to start driving in Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada and travel down to Seminole, Texas. After a few days spent encouraging our brothers and sisters we plan to continue down to Belize and meet with our brother Armando. We calculate that the round trip back to Steinbach will be over 7000 miles (11830 km)!

Winkler Bible Camp @ Winkler, Canada

We met at the WInkler Bible Camp tonight before leaving for Leah and Alexander's engagement celebration. It was a good time, but all of us were ready to roll and couldn't keep still. After a short stop in the town of Winkler and then in Altona we headed towards the boarder. (The first picture of us at the WInkler Mall, the second picture is us filling up for gas at 4 in the morning somewhere in the middle of nowhere).

The sun is shining beautifully over the city of Kansas and it's starting to get warmer. God has protected us through the night. Spirit's are high. We're having a great time, the drive has been fun but long, right now we're sitting in a coffee shop at International House of Prayer in Kansas City. We thought that since we were driving near to this 24-7 prayer hub we needed to stop in and get our minds focused for the rest of the trip. In just a few minutes we will head out on our last leg to Seminole.

The hotel room that we spent the night at last night was probably one of the best any of us had ever slept in. The green grass was soft as we lay under the stars that shone brightly over us while we breathed the spring aroma from the blooming trees. The possum that jumped out of the way as we parked in the little clearing was the source of many jokes as we bedded down for the night. Right now we’re sitting at a gas station feeling rested and rejuvenated on the outskirts of Okalahoma City. Spirits continue to soar within the group as we look forward to arriving in Seminole later today. Yesterday evening after a few of us went swimming in a random river Lyndon shared an inspirational challenge and encouragement. He encouraged us in the way he has seen this group gel together and stand up as men through some of the adventures we’ve had already. His word was a blessing to each of us and we feel so privileged to have Lyndon along as he has become a solid pillar of this trip.

Please pray for us as we arrive in Seminole. Pray that the first impressions we give this community will be positive and God glorifying. We don’t have time to build rapport or history therefore first impressions are very important. It’s also a different culture down here, pray that we’ll fit in and understand the aspects needed in order to present the gospel in a way that is culturally relevant. We’re depending on the Holy Spirit to speak and change hearts, but we know first hand the value of contextualization. Thanks for your constant support.

Millions of Oranges.... @ Álamo, Mexico

We just completed some street evangelism under a statue of a man dumping a bucket of oranges. It´s a cute little town in the heart of the orange industry. Wow, do they taste great!

We had a great opportunity to sleep on the beach last night. It was a refreshing rest and beautiful view when we woke with the sun rise in the morning.

We've just finished a supper of bread and Nutella and are hoping to push through the night to arrive at the Belizian Border by 9am Wednesday. Thankyou for your prayers, continue to pray for safety.

It's really exciting that we made it into Belize with no hitches at all. All except one. We can't find Armando. We're in the country but we don't know where we are going or what to do. The prearranged meeting spots proved unsuccessful, emails unresponded and phone calls not answered. Pray that we'll meet up with him soon. We're sure he's working hard to find us.
