After another 6 hour bus trip yesterday (4/2), Jaree and I have arrived in lovely Chiang Mai. We spent the afternoon wandering around town and then by total coincidence ran into Jaree's friends Sonja and David in the street! Jaree knew they were going to be around in the next couple of days but it was still very exciting. We spent the evening with Sonja and David at the Night Bazaar. The Bazaar was horrible because I wanted to buy just about everything I saw but knowing that I couldn't fit it all into my little pack I had to resist. We settled on buying a lovely pair of thick fishermans pants for B100. I'm hoping i will be able to buy everything back i Bangkok before i leave.
Alrighty well we're off to the zoo now after having breakky with Sonja and David this morning!
So everything is well and good and i hope you all are too.

Day 2 and 3 in chiang mai
The past couple of days have been spent going to the chiang mai zoo and then going to a cookery school where we learnt heaps for beautiful thai dishes and had lots of fun. Naturally we ate way too much! We made tomyum goong (hot and spicy soup), coconut soup, stir fried vegetables, sweet and sour vegetables, green curry, penang curry, pad se ew and pad thai and the chef demostrated making fresh curry paste, spring rolls and sweet sticky rice and mango.
Yesterday evening we went to the Sunday walking markets but again resisted buying anything thankfully!
