Ko Lipe, Thailand
Jaree and I arrived yesterday morning on Ko Lipe in sothern Thailand after catching the speed boat from langkawi in Malaysia. Our plan was to head straight to Ko Tarutao, a relatively uninhabited island part of the Tarutao National Park. However, due to the Thai public holiday all the boats were full. We wandered up the beach and found ourself a nice little hut to spend a couple of nights in. Ko Lipe is absolutely beautiful. The ocean is a crystal clear green with white sand. Long tail boats anchored to the shore make this a typically thai setting, along with grass roofed huts along the beach. We couldn't ask for anything better. It's not hugely busy which is wonderful and the weather has been gorgeous! To top it all off we are loving the delicious variety of food especially fresh seafood. I had a whole barbequed white snapper for dinner last night with a sweet and sour sauce for 80baht ($3)! shame we are leaving so soon but we are sure many more thai island delights await us!
