China is a very big country about 300 times the size of Taiwan. This was only a "sample taking" trip.
This was an experimental trip using a foldable bike traveling China.Tibet and the cradle of Chinese culture, the so called central high land, were the must-visit places in this trip. No definite route, no definite time schedule, no definite gears and equipment, gears which was proved not useful anymore needed to mail home.Special thanks to Mr.Shi from Taiwan staying in Tianjin, without his backing up for logistics this trip could not keep as flexible as an experimental one should be.

I am now a little bit tired, since the trip was an experimental one, making a conclusion becomes a necessary evil......... My little donkey the foldable bike had proved itself the capability and flexibily carrying out and fulfiling a long distance cycling trip plan. Well done, my...

I had sent a mail to you both about 10days ago. I was afraid that this mail had been faild being sent to you: Peter and Audreas (Hanson): I have been to the site to view your cycling china, what a lot of excellent pictures. What happened the day we departed I found the main road kind of boring then a big bridge shown up left hand . I detoured to look what was there the other side of the bridge and go further and further and no return anymore. Only when I reached Zikaza then took a bus returned Lhasa. The night you stayed in a ruined concrete house I camped by the road a small flat area as the picture attached. Next day the high mountain road almost killed me but anyway I made it with the last mile almost unconsciously walking the bike. Unfortunately I was not able to get any food latter on or I would like to camped by the lake as you have done. We have many similar experiences only the time I lagged you for a day or two. We might had met the same Tibetan family camped by the lake with big colorful umbrella and 4-wheels. The river side Peter camped is very close to the place I camped next day. A short bridge shown on your picture, we camped on opposite sides of the bridge. The evening you were soaked with rain I camped in a Tibetan commercial camp site in Jianzi. The people you met in Jianzi, one of them had his arm broken and wrapped, told me in a restaurant about you guys. Anyway I enjoyed a lot from your expressive trip report. I am afraid the size of photos would be to big to be transmitted by the mail. I would try upload the photo through “triptracker”.
