I have a feeling that I will have a love/hate relationship with Russia. On the love side are stilettos (the shoe sort), and vodka - both of which are central to the Russian way of living, or so I'm told. However, I have to admit I'm somewhat apprehensive about the door slamming, no smiling, strong public face side of things. However, here's hoping that the vodka will make up for a multitude of evils, and tip the scales more towards the love side :D
Anyway, I'm sure I'll post a message (half hysterical with excitement) before I leave (and if you're very lucky, even photos of my home town, Warwick - home of the bevans :P). In the meantime, I'll put up a few pictures of the fantastic view from my weekend at a Gold Coast apartment with some friends. :)

I haven't been out much. Only once but it's made up by the fact that you can buy alcohol everywhere, in the supermarkets on the streets you name it. I wish you a happy countdown and St Petersburg awaits you ...
