Senggigi was our one day stop on the way to Gilis, that wasn't really planned. Public transport on Bali is something to be avoided at all costs since the public bemos don't leave until they are full, not to mention that some of the bus terminals turn into market places in the late afternoon. Ferry to Lombok took us nearly 6 hours, enough time for the freshly painted stairs to upper deck to dry. Still have some of that ugly green paint on our shoes.
Otherwise Senggigi is nothing but a poshy beach resort with expensive hotels and restaurants, probably quite the opposite of the rest of the Lombok.
