Today the Tour de France passed the town of Cognac! There was a race against the clock and I saw more than 80 cyclists. They all arrive individually with a police escort in front and sponser cars behind. So if anyone sees the tour de France in Cognac on TV, think of me because I saw it live!!

I have been following your trip avidly, but I have not found out until today how to comment. I do hope you have not given up on me. My head was like soup after travelling so many time zones. Your mother drip feeds me the telephone calls. Her summary, I am sure misses out some of the punch lines I would have put in. I do hope you use the old manual diary.
