Andreas has a lot to do though. He is ending a 2.5 year contract in Xian and he has to get rid of the apartement, fininsh up at work, send all his stuff home etc, etc. He also ordered a brand new titanium bike frame from a company here in Xian and they promised to deliver it two days before we plan to leave. After that it has to be equipped with all the gears, wires, breaks and stuff... lots of things that can cause delays..
I will be using my trusty old Marin that has taken me through parts of Europe and Asia already.
The plan is to leave Xian saturday the 31st and head south-west towards Chengdu, wich should take 2-3 weeks. This stage is more or less just a warm-up. West of Chengdu we will hit the Tibetan plateau and the fun will start, at least one month of bad roads at high altitude to Lhasa.
Two days left. Changing chain and handlebar on the bike. Tomorrow Andreas will get his bike hopefully.
