Disneyland!!! It was unreal...oh my god. I didn't think Mickey Mouse or Goofy could still excite me so much..The place is so perfectly presented and ran, that we were mesmerised. After just 30 minutes in the park, we had an argument as whether the ducks in the lagoon were real. (or course they were, but...trust me, it messes with your mind after a while!) The rides are amazing..I won't bore you with the minor detail, except to say it's something that every kid should see!! (hint hint to future parents on the list)

So, the last few days we've soaked up the sun at San Diego (yes, home of Free Willy, i was excited!), south of LA near the Mexican border. What an delightfully relaxing retreat from frantic LA. SD is a super cool 1.5 million populated Adelaide type city, on the coast of Southern California. The city is very clean, quiet and gorgeous, and dear I say, so are the women. On that, Jonny keeps humming the tune "I wish they could I be California Girls" by the beach boys, need i say more? So we stayed in Little Italy, (I think Mrc was satisfied) and consumed most of our time eating pizzas and pasta on a Lygon-type street, while commenting on the pudgy gut that we have so rapidly developed on this trip. We toured the San Diego Zoo yesterday, which is infamously the "best and most historic zoo in the world". It fuckin rocks, and I've never been one to be excited about the animal kingdom. Essentially, it's built in a big valley, and all the enclosures have a tasteful, overgrown, fantasy feel to them. Seedy (albeit delirious) from the night before, we found climbing the hills difficult, the lines pain full and the children frustrating, but the rooting monkeys and apes did makes us giggle on cue. It was that sort of day.

We made a very brief trip to Tijuana, Mexico. A must do apparently. A quick fact, 160,000 people cross the border everyday, and most of them are either the macho American Marine, the boozy College fraternity, or the tourist (us). For us, it was a sight that can't be repeated! Too worried about the Mexican drug desperado's, we stuck to the touring variety and gave booze the thumb down. Lucky we did, because the place is like a cowboy arena based in the middle on Mexico City on a busy day, and coming from crusy SD, it was kinda scary. The greasy male Mexican spruikers would use just one line on us, on repeat. It went pretty much like this, in Spanish accent, "hey hey, boys, come inside...$1 doller beer, donkey shows, womannn massagee) The Donkey Show I will not go into detail here, but it involves a young Mexican girl and a donkey, use your imagination, it's Mexico!) So we were pretty much outta there in 3 hours. It's boring dirty place when you;'re not drinking...

Road trip of the year: Cruising in a Ford hirecar from LA to San Francisco on Pacific Highway 1...the great ocean road on steroids. (Malibu, Big Sur, Monterey, Santa Barbara (home of bold and the beautiful!)) My nonna would have loved it.
