My name is Larry Peiper and I am a 60 year old recent retiree from BASF. I am getting ready to hike the Appalachian Trail from Springer Mountain in North Georgia to Mt. Katahdin in northern Maine, a distance of 2,174 miles. My plans are to start around the middle of February, 2008 and I hope to reach Mt. Katahdin in July or August. This picture was taken during my October Training Hike to the top of Springer Mountain and the beginning of the Appalachian Trail.

Top of Springer Mountain

The above picture was taken on top of Springer Mountain at the Southern Terminus of the AT during a training hike in September. A fellow hiker Jim Hoover showed up while I was taking a break and offered to take my picture next to the plaque.

Good luck Dad

Best of luck with the training. I hope the new work schedule doesn't get in the way of all your plans. I know first hand how work can interfere with the best laid plains.

Good luck, Larry

Good morning Larry - Just got your website info (probably for the third or fourth time; you know how CRS can be . . .). If you get in a long winded, epiphany state of mind, write and I will share your thoughts and observations with the Presh Brown SS group. Bud
