Sounds like you guys are having a wonderfull experience!
Louis and I just got back from a six day trip down to Joshua Tree National Park and Anza Borega State Park. It was lovely even though they kept talking about how spectaular it would be in two weeks when the desert flowers are out!
I had Monday off and I also had Friday off as my forced day off without pay (budget cuts!) and so I added a few days and we went for a mini adventure. The the many different kinds of catcus and the dynamic rock formations were a treat for the eyes. Joshua Tree was nice during the day but cold at night (I made Louis sleep in the tent and I sleep in the car up off the 30 degree ground!).
Anza Borego was lower in elevation and much warmer. The guy in the site next to us had a huge telescope that zoomed in and focused in on everyting from nebulas to planets. It was awesome.
Now were back. . . . It snowed 14 inches overnight at Jan's house in Reno and a mere dusting here. What a difference.
Going on a trip out by Fallon Saturday to go in some caves with a BLM archeologist and out to see some petroglyphs.
See ya. Keep having fun!
