| I have a few problems with this site. I love the whole concept, but things work, then they dont work. looking at the forums there doesnt seem to be replies to questions for a Looong time. so is this site actually active or is it being "forgotten?", I am asking because I dont want to put alot of effort in to creating trips if the site doesnt work correctly and isnt going to be fixed. anyway, I have a couple trips set to friends view, and they dont show to the friends- they use too, then they didnt, then they did, now they dont again ( over a period of the last month or 2) I have a friend when I click on them it goes to their profile and I can see their Friends, I dont think you should be able to view friends of friends. but anyway- same thing here, cant see any trips. | ||

| Hi Phantom2, Sorry for the delay. The team is very busy working on new features. We try to answer all you mails and posts as soon as possible. It is true though that we reply to our mail much faster than forum posts because forum is not used very often. Regarding your problem. I checked the scenario you described and it worked fine. I created a new user, added this user to my friends list and logged as that user I was able to see my "friends" trips. It is true though that the social part of TripTracker is lacking and the team is aware of this. This functionality was added late in the development of our site and still needs work. I also checked your profile (I presume Phantom and Phantom2 is you) to solve your problem. I see that Phantom2 has Phantom as a friend meaning Phantom can see Phantom2 trips. But since Phantom2's only trip is private Phantom cannot see any of his trips. The "Friend" status works only in one way. You need to add Phantom2 to your friend list to enable this profile to see Phantom's "friend" trips. But again I agree that adding new friends operation should be more exposed and simplified as it is now Seeing friends of a friend is not a bug. Anyone can see friends list of another user. If you think this might be an issue please let us know. I hope I solved your problem. If not please let us know. Either by email on help@triptracker.net or on this forum. | ok- I'll leave this here for now in case anyone else may have this problem/confusion. if i am signed in as Phantom2 I can see my friend Phantom- if I click on Phantom, I see his profile but it has 0 trips for viewing if i then logout then login as Phantom, phantom2 does Not show as a friend, but if i search for phantom2 then click that profile, it comes up as "remove from friends list" so i'm not sure if that name is a friend or not.. i was going to remove then re-add, but i thought you may want to see that 1st ( am i looking at thigs right??) - I am positive that previously phantom2 could view phantom's trips. i dont know if i changed something or not Also, my personal thought is that a friend should not be able to see my other friends, I think thats kind of personal info, but take a poll maybe i'm alone with that idea. | ||

| I see the problem. The command "Add/remove friend" is incorrectly rendered. Will update this thread when it's fixed. Regarding displaying friends list we looked at functionality like Facebook has where everybody can see friends of other users. Your comment will be taken into consideration. | ||
